Community

The Community Impacts Programs provide education, outreach services, public awareness, and advocacy activities that result in the development or enhancement of services for people with brain injury. The Community Impact Programs also involves assessment, planning, identification and facilitation of activities that helps a community to provide specialized services to people with brain injury.

Various activities include:

  1. information on brain injury
  2. referral to services
  3. support services provided through education
  4. outreach services
  5. public awareness
  6. advocacy activities

The goals for Community Impact include the ability to access the community through public transportation, perform daily living activities, and become an active part of the comunnity in which the individual lives.

The program conducts or sponsors presentations, workshops, and/or conferences designed to expand or improve services.		 The program achieved greater than or equal to 75 % of its goal to provide educational activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved less than or equal to 49% of its goal to provide educational activities for a specified number of people by the target date
CI2: Outreach
The program develops or expands support groups; forms relationships and builds coalitions with community partners; identifies and facilitates development of and referral to community resources; develops or improves access to written and on-line information.		 The program achieved greater than or equal to 75 % of its goal to provide outreach activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved 50-74% of its goal to provide educational activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved less than or equal to 49% of its goal to provide outreach activities for a specified number of people by the target date
CI3: Public Awareness
The program develops, conducts, sponsors, or participates in activities that increase the community’s general knowledge of brain injury (print / broadcast activities, health fairs, awareness events, etc) . 		The program achieved greater than or equal to 75 % of its goal to provide public awareness activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved 50-74% of its goal to provide public awareness activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved less than or equal to 49% of its goal to provide public awareness activities for a specified number of people by the target date
CI4: Advocacy
The program develops and provides information, training, and resources that assist survivors, caregivers and others to become effective self and systems advocates.		 The program achieved greater than or equal to 75 % of its goal to provide advocacy activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved 50-74% of its goal to provide advocacy activities for a specified number of people by the target date. The program achieved less than or equal to 49% of its goal to provide advocacy activities for a specified number of people by the target date.
